Now, at the beginning of October, the jacaranda trees are blooming in bright colors. This is also the case in the park of the Kupferquelle Resort, in Tsumeb, where we camp for a few days before we drive to the Caprivi Strip. We know the place from previous visits and always stop here for a few days when we pass by.

There is everything a traveler’s heart could want here: a 50-meter swimming pool, shady campsites under trees, showers and clean toilets, washing machines and, last but not least, an excellent restaurant where you can eat delicious food. No wonder most campers stay here for a few days and wash the Etosha dust or sweat off their bodies. (We currently have temperatures of 34°C here; in Karima Mulilo it is already almost 40°C).

When we arrived here yesterday, unlike last time, there were at least a hundred children frolicking in the water. We left the fun to them and didn’t do our first swim until this morning, when no one except four ducks swam in the pool. What a feeling to swim in the cool water surrounded by jacaranda trees…
