We’re both more wine than beer drinkers. But if we are in countries where the art of brewing has been elevated to an art form, then that can also change. When we read that Salzburg is also known as a «Beer City», we knew that not only Mozart and Mozart balls are at home here, but also good beer.

For example, in the Stiegl Brewery, which was first mentioned in 1492. It is the largest private brewery in Austria and there is a «Beer Adventure World» on its 3,500 m2 areal. We dived into this on Saturday, May 13, 2023. We had barely digested breakfast at the Römerlodge in Eugendorf when we arrived at the brewery.

After we had paid the entrance fee, we sat down in the cinema to learn more about the millennia-old history of beer and the centuries-old history of the brewery there and in the adjoining museum. As befits a brewery, the tour began with a glass of beer!
