The temptation is huge!
We would have loved to buy apricots during our stay in Valais, for which this canton is known. But the wet weather also causes problems for the apricots; these will not be ripe until the end of June.
But there are other Valais delicacies. For example, the sinfully good raclette and fondue cheese from Walker. This cheese dairy, which is run by the Walker family in the third generation, is located just a few kilometers outside of Brig.
Our stomachs audibly growled as we entered the attractive sales room. It simply smelled heavenly. A friendly employee explained the types of cheese to us and let us try them. No wonder we left the shop with around three kilograms of cheese, a fondue mix, dried Valais sausages, bread and a bottle of Williams.
PS: Valais is also known for these fine spirits by Morand.
