Lots of space for splashing and swimming!
The cold, wet weather of the last few weeks (not days!) made us want to take a trip to the Valais. Based on the weather forecast, we knew that the weather there would not only be better but also warmer. From Kandersteg, Valais is only a quarter of an hour away if you take the Kandersteg-Goppenstein car train.
We did that on June 14, 2024. We had packed our swimming trunks because Valais is not only known for tomatoes, cheese, wine and apricots but also for its thermal baths. One is close to Brig. And we headed for this bath. The fact that the parking was free was a nice surprise. (Imagine something like that in Zurich!)
For the next three hours we splashed around in the various pools, which have temperatures of up to 35°C. What could be more relaxing than lying in warm, bubbling water? A massage and sauna wouldn’t be bad either! But everything doesn’t have to happen on the first visit. We were probably the first but certainly not the last time in the Brigerbad!
