Last year, when we had to interrupt our journey in Mexico for several months because of the Corona virus, we were lucky enough to meet Charly in Atomtronic, who runs a restaurant with an attached campsite. We spent a good time with him and Roberto, who had to close his Balnearies in San Cristobal de la Barranca due to Corona, before we returned to Switzerland for a few weeks to continue afterwards our journey in southern Africa.

In Namibia we were lucky enough to come across the Omaruru River Guesthouse. Here we have a base from which we can travel Namibia and return again and again. That suits us until the fuss about COVID-19 19 has subsided so that we can travel again without CPR test and other restrictions. Eckhardt Mittendorf, aka Ecki, a German Namibian, has created over the decades a little paradise. When we sit in the garden with all the palm trees, then we have the feeling of being in an oasis! And the beautiful pool invites us to take a refreshing swim every day.

PS. We have most of the campsite to ourselves. Mahangu stands in the shade of large trees, from which the birds wake us up in the morning with a concert. Or a woodpecker with its knock.
