I spent the last ten years of my professional life as an advertiser in Solothurn. During this time, I had an interesting job and got to know Solothurn better, which I had previously only known from the exit sign on the A1. The people of Solothurn are rightly proud of their beautiful city – it is said to be the most beautiful baroque city in Switzerland; But that’s what the people of St. Gallen also say about their city. But let’s leave it alone!

The visit to Solothurn on June 11, 2024 was sad because I took part in an abdication for a good friend. Afterwards, I still had time to visit colleagues who I got to know and worked with for many years during my working stay in Solothurn. Very close to their studio is one of the most famous confectioneries in this city, which is not only known for its beautiful old town, but also for the famous Solothurner-Cake.

Is it surprising that I drove back through the Emmental to Kandersteg that evening with a delicious cake on board?
