And the fun begins...
When we heard from friends about the «Golf Rebels» in Eugendorf, in the Tyrol, we knew where to book our beginner’s golf course. We live in Swakopmund on a golf course; but the pros who could teach us how to play golf prefer to earn their money in Dubai where the earnings are higher.
So, on Sunday, May 7th, 2023, we drove from Zurich via Innsbruck to Salzburg. Since the Arlberg Tunnel was closed, we drove over the 1’793 meter high Arlberg Pass. First, we went along lush green meadows with mountain flowers, where there were cows that processed the lush grass into good mountain milk. The fact that the ski season is definitely over was evident from the closed ski lifts in the famous ski resorts of St. Anton, Lech and Zürs. The snow was still almost a meter high on the left and right of the pass road; but the road itself was free of snow.
The closer we got to Salzburg, the more spring-like it became. The meadows around St. Johann were covered with yellow dandelions – what a splendor! And then, after a good six-hour drive, we reached Eugendorf, which is twenty kilometers from Salzburg. And here, in a rural setting, we learn how to play golf over the next five days – watched by golf pros and cows grazing in the pastures…
