Aren't they just beautiful?
Luckily it cooled down during the night. In the meantime, we have gotten used to sleeping even at temperatures at thirty degrees Celsius. At least as long as Orapa allows it. The kitten sometimes woke us up at four o’clock to play with us. (Thanks to him, I also saw the Southern Cross a few days ago, which now only appears in the early hours of the morning.)
We had washed the sweat from our bodies the evening before, so a cat wash was enough. The weaver birds were already awake and waiting for me to feed and provide water for them – they thanked me with loud chirps. (Orapa was not interested in the birds and devoted himself to the breakfast!)
Since we got up at five o’clock – it’s already light here – we were able to set off early. We had a good reason: There is a ten-kilometer long 4×4 trail that winds past many quiver trees. And these looks fantastically beautiful in the morning light. Brigitta kept stopping me to take photos of these fascinating trees. (Quiver trees and baobabs are our favorite trees!)
