The chocolate team!
On July 26, 2024, we got up early because we had a long drive ahead of us on this sunny Friday. The convertible was waiting for us in the garage with the top down.
At seven o’clock I turned the ignition key and the eight cylinders began to hum. Today’s destination was Broc, which is about an hour and a half away. But in between there was a wonderful ride through the Simmental and over the Jaun Pass, which is only 1,500 meters high but very nice to drive. It forms the border between the Simmental and the Gruyere region. In numerous hairpins bends we went up to the top of the pass and then in just as many down to Jaun.
Was it just my imagination or did it already smell like chocolate? Broc, where Cailler produces the best chocolate in Switzerland, was only seventeen kilometers away. Twenty minutes later we reached paradise! It smelled heavenly, it smelled like chocolate and pralines. It smelled of seduction!
Luckily Brigitta had booked a visit to the Cailler Museum because there was a huge rush – it’s the holiday season! The best was saved for last: a large wall full of chocolate bars and a sales room where we bought several kilos of chocolate. (Not only for us but also for our friends in Namibia, where we will be in five weeks…)
