The Swiss Alps near Interlaken!
On our travels we have often heard that particularly beautiful landscapes are described as: «Switzerland of Chile». Or «Switzerland of Tajikistan». Or «Switzerland of Pakistan». Whenever the landscape was particularly attractive and beautiful, our country was used as a comparison. Not without reason, as it turned out during a recent visit to Interlaken!
Admittedly, Interlaken doesn’t keep up with its fantastic surroundings. Horrible architectural sins have been committed here in recent decades. And some visitors from Asia, Africa, South or North America will probably ask themselves, when they look at this little town between Lake Thun and Lake Brienz, why Interlaken is a «must-do destination». You can really ask yourself that!
However, when you get to see the surroundings of Interlaken – and this on a sunny day too – then you know why 200,000 visitors from all over the world come here every year. It’s true: Switzerland is beautiful!
