What I liked best was the excursions when I was at school! The teacher was in a good mood when we hiked. I also; even though I knew I would have to write an essay afterwards. But in contrast to arithmetic, writing was fun for me…

We went on a special excursion on November 10th, 2022. I had come up with something special for Brigitta’s birthday; namely the following: Beat and Anita, who we met in Omaruru, are owners of a gyrocopter. (Anyone who wants to buy such a flying vehicle or want to know how it works has a look here. On the occasion of a visit, I asked Beat if he would fly with Brigitta to the Vingerklip Lodge on her birthday – the flight time would take about two hours. I would follow with Anita, four full jerry cans and a vehicle. In the evening we meet at the lodge, celebrate the birthday together and the next day I fly back with Beat while Brigitta and Anita drive back to Omaruru. Thought, said, done!

It was an unforgettable flight! At low altitude we flew across the Ugab River, where Brigitta could make out elephant spoors. However, we did not get to see the elephants. But the imposing rock finger (Vingerclip).
