An impressive experience
We saw many extraordinary waterfalls on our travels. For example, the Iguaçu Falls on the Argentine-Brazilian border. Or the Victoria Falls on the border with Zambia and Zimbabwe. Or the Angel Falls in Venezuela. Or the Epupa Falls on the border between Angola and Namibia.
Many years ago we took a first trip to the Rhine Falls. But what we saw a few days ago was of a different caliber. After the heavy rainfall, the Rhine Falls presents itself from its most impressive side. It’s unbelievable to see how powerful the masses of water are that fall twenty-three meters into the depths. It rushes, bubbles and hisses; and the air is filled with meter-high water mist.
Tourists from all over the world take boats near the cascading water or marvel at the waterfall on walking paths that run along the shore. Smartphones are being pulled out everywhere to capture the spectacle in images and sound. An incredible spectacle that even thrilled our spoiled eyes!
