When we decided to buy a house on a golf course in Swakopmund in autumn 2021, we also did so with the intention of playing golf in the future. But first we had to learn how to play golf. We did this over the next two years when we attended golf courses in Austria.

When we live in our apartment in Kandersteg, we regularly visit the golf course in Thun, which is only half an hour’s drive away. Or we take a trip to one of the many small golf courses that there are in Switzerland. (We leave the renowned golf courses such as Interlaken, Gstaad or Verbier to the experts!)

Meanwhile, we have also played golf in Zimbabwe and South Africa. On our short trips in southern Africa there is usually an opportunity to play golf. And most of the time these golf courses are in a fantastic location, which is twice as much fun and makes up for our mediocre play!

What we enjoy most, however, is playing golf in Rössmund. It’s only a five-minute walk from our house. And there we meet large groups of springboks early in the morning who watch us play…
