LADISMITH: A T-BONE STEAK FOR (MY) LADY!

Mhmmmmmmm!

After visiting the observatory, our journey continued through South Africa. We drove to Ladismith via Sutherland and Laingsburg. We wanted to take a look at a cheese production here, because the cheese from Ladismith is known and popular not only in South Africa, but also in Namibia.

We arrived in Ladismith just after 5 pm. and after a varied drive that took us past large onion fields. We didn’t have to look long for the tourist office there, as it is located in the church, which is clearly visible in the middle of the village. The nice employees, who were actually already off work, gave us the information we needed. They told us that a tour of the cheese factory was not possible. But she was kind enough to reserve a spot for us at a nearby campsite.

We put Mahangu on the campsite, did some shopping at Spar and finally went to eat at a nearby restaurant. It was the only one open that day. But the menu was promising. You can get a 400g T-bone steak here for less than ten Swiss francs! And it tastes like it costs four times as much. Brigitta definitely looked at the world very contentedly; While I ate my chicken salad and watched a Europa League football match on TV. For dessert I treated myself to vanilla ice cream with chocolate sauce. I really love that too!
