Spitzkoppe from above
You get to know interesting people while traveling. One of them is André, a French who was a surgeon in Geneva in his previous life. Until he felt that he and his wife had to change something. In the USA they bought an airplane with 6 seats to fly to Africa with it. A decision that the two never regretted.
With their small plane, André and his wife flew in many stopovers and in six months from the USA via Canada and Greenland to Europe. Then a jump to Africa and across the Sahara and West Africa further south to Windhoek. Today a TECNAM P2006 is in a hangar in Omaruru. (By the way: the aircraft and hangar are advertised for sale because André surrenders his pilot’s license for reasons of age!)
A few days ago, we played a game of boules in front of his hangar. It goes without saying that I played in the team that won! André was so impressed that he offered Brigitta a flight over the Erongo Mountains and the Spitzkoppe for the next morning! Merci beaucoup, André!
PS. Brigitta raved about this flight. And of the fact that André flew so low over the gravel road that she could wave to the driver of a grader. In Namibia the freedom above and below the clouds is limitless!
