Namibia: Etosha National Parc

The Etosha National Park is a 22,935 km2 park in the north of Namibia and the most important protected area in the country. It lies on the northwestern edge of the Kalahari Basin and covers almost the entire 4760 km² Etosha Pan. The name “Etosha” comes from the Oshivambo and means something like “large white square”.

The Etosha National Park is home to a very large variety of large animal species. With the exception of crocodiles, hippos and buffalo, you can find almost all large animal species in southern Africa. (Source: Wikipedia)
