When we crossed the river Rhine and the Swiss border at Diepoldsau on 21 September 2013, we had just come to the end of an unforgettable journey. It covered 63 countries, took 2,573 days, was 280,000 km long and led us around the world. If you want to find out more about this epic trip, please read our
e-Book in English; or order our printed Book (A4 landscape, 250 pages with many full-page illustrations, only available in German).
The travel bug has not left us even after this long journey. Mid-October 2017, we boarded the Grande Amburgo, a RoRo ship of the Grimaldi shipping line, in Hamburg. From there we sailed to Montevideo. We landed on 17th November 2017 and travelled first South and then North America.
Like so many travelers, the virus has put a stop to our travel plans in South America. We changed them and shipped our car mid September 2020 from Mexico to Walvis Bay, in Namibia, instead to Colombia. In the meantime we have become semi-nomads and have bought a holiday home in Swakopmund. From here we explore southern Africa; however, we spend a few months a year in Switzerland, where we have residence in Kandersteg.
What’s next? We don’t know that exactly yet, but our posts on the homepage will tell about it. If you want to see what we experienced during our travels, watch here: videos.

«For my part, I travel not to go anywhere; but to go.
I travel for travel’s sake. The great affair is to move.»
Robert Lewis Stevenson, 1850-1894 (Scottish Essayist)
